This is the definition of stolen valor. The legal definition, too.

Someone feigning a military career and utilizing that lie for their own financial gain.

That’s what appears to be happening the following video taken by a former U.S. Army soldier outside a tobacco shop in Orange, California. He claims the gentleman shown in the footage received a discount on pepper spray because he was a Purple Heart recipient. As you can see, his story doesn’t add up at all. He says he was a “recon” Marine then says he was “supposed to” make gunnery sergeant in a year, after boot camp.

Okay.

Okay, dude.

At the end, he says “don’t post that or there will be legal ramifications!”

Only the former soldiers is right. It’s in public. It’s legal. And … it got posted.
