Hollywood has pumped out a lot of war movies over the years. A lot. Some of them are timeless, while others are forgettable.

Good or bad, many of the films are not only similar in scope but in the subject matter they tackle.

While the jury’s still out on whether or not the film is worth watching or not (the trailer can be seen above), at least it delves into something pretty cutting-edge — if not controversial.

Titled Good Kill, it tells the troubled tale of a United States Air Force drone pilot (the ones that shoot and kill) and stars Ethan Hawke and January Jones. It was directed, produced and written by Andrew Niccol, whose work includes films like Truman ShowLord of War and Gattaca.

Much like the box office-smash American Sniper, this war film depicts both the physical and psychological effects of war.
