Staff Sgt. Pedro Sotelo Throwing the ceremonial first pitch

The World Series is over and we’d like to send congratulatory praises over to the San Francisco Giants who won the series 4-3 – but more importantly we want to highlight the Active-Duty service members who participated in America’s favorite pastime by singing “God Bless America” during the 7th inning stretch of each game.

Right before Game 1 of the World Series, David Ortiz surprised two Army vets and one active-duty service member with tickets to the game. As apart of Bank of America’s “Expression of Thank Campaign” they teamed up with the MLB to salute all veterans and service members during the 7th inning of Game 1. The crowd stood to their feet cheering, clapping and waving the American flag.
