Police arrested two of the teenagers who attacked a Marine veteran who fought in the infamous ‘Hell House’ firefight. The teens, a 17 year-old boy and girl, are being charged with aggravated assault and robbery.

On Feb. 12, Christopher Marquez was attacked and robbed while leaving a Washington D.C. McDonalds by three teenagers. After the attack, Marquez claimed that the assault was racially motivated.

“The kids were asking me if I think that black lives mattered,” Marquez told said. “I was ignoring them, just because I felt intimidated. I felt how they approached me, it was very hostile. I felt they were really trying to intimidate me and just trying to start a confrontation with me.”

A few days later, police released video footage of the assault in the hopes of finding the teenagers. Though the video was blurry, it clearly led to an arrest. Police say there is a third teenager involved in the assault, but no arrest has yet been made.

Marquez served in Iraq and survived the bloody Battle of Fallujah. During a fight notoriously remembered as the ‘Hell House,’ Marquez carried a fellow Marine to safety. His likeness is now preserved in a Camp Lejeune statue called ‘No Man Left Behind.’

A GoFundMe supporting Marquez has raised more than $35,000.
