While the Ukrainian military commercial isn’t in English (and neither are its subtitles), you can get the gist of the message through the visual. It’s a current soldier getting a phone call from his grandfather, a proud and decorated veteran.

It’s called “Victory Day”.

The hometown favorite is obviously the United States Army commercial above — titled “Ethos” — centers around joining the largest and most versatile team you can possibly join (hint: the U.S. Army). It also belittles the silliness of American celebrity culture with the line that you can find these special men and women “where the lights don’t flash”.

Which one claims victory?
