For the second time in less than a week, the African country of Mali is in the headlines for awful, haunting reasons.

This time, it’s a report out of northern Mali, where militants launched a rocket attack on a United Nations base, killing two U.N. peacekeepers and a defense contractor.

The violence also injured 20, many of them seriously.

This from VOA:

There is no word on who is responsible for the attack …

Two West African militant groups — al-Qaida in the Islamic Maghreb and its affiliate al-Mourabitoun — claimed joint responsibility for the November 20 attack on the Radisson Blu Hotel.

On Friday, Malian forces arrested two men in connection with the hotel attack.
