A Ronald McDonald statue permanently seated on a park bench in a sleepy New England town, one that over the years has served as a popular source of hope and happiness for children struggling with debilitating ailments was mercilessly and senselessly butchered recently.

Who are the bastards responsible? Fugazi militant extremists? Burger King loyalists?

In all seriousness, it’s an unfortunate story, especially when you’re dealing with sapping joy from kids who already have it tough enough.
