Bradley Cooper plays Navy SEAL Chris Kyle, the most lethal sniper in U.S. history in the Clint Eastwood directed, American Sniper. The film is largely based on Kyle’s memoir of the same name – which spent 13 weeks at No. 1 on the New York Times best-sellers list – and follows the journey of Kyle and his family prior to life as a Navy SEAL and being recognized as having the most sniper kills in the U.S. military history.
American Sniper was in production and originally set to come out in 2013, but was halted after Chris Kyle was shot and killed on Feb. 2, 2013.
Cooper told USA Today that he would continue to make good on his promise to Kyle to bring his story to life – for his family and our veterans.
The film is set to hit select theaters on Christmas Day, and nationwide in January.
