A behemoth United States Marine CH-53E Super Stallion helicopter had to make an emergency landing on a public San Diego beach Wednesday due to a low oil pressure indicator light, according to a local southern Californian NBC affiliate.

It was operating out of Marine Corps Air Station Miramar.

The massive chopper measures 88 feet in length, 24 feet high and has a “rotor diameter” of 72 feet.

When you see it in proportion to the Solana Beach sunbathers on the sand, you can see just how big the aircraft really is.

One thing’s for sure, it sure as hell isn’t a gyrocopter.
