Eleck Stone, 8, suffers from cystic fibrosis — a life-threatening disease that harms the lungs and digestive system. Through the Make-A-Wish Foundation and the 3rd Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment at Fort Benning, he was given the opportunity to live out a dream: actually be — albeit for a day — an actual United States Army Ranger.

According to his mother, he became fascinated with the Rangers after talking at length about the military with his grandfather, a Vietnam veteran.

“I believe it was a special conversation they had between the two of them that led Eleck to understand how special and elite the Rangers are,” she said. “We are very fortunate to have family that has those same characteristics and wants his grandson to have the characteristics of a Ranger.”
