Here it is: the CIA document that led Congress to pass a joint resolution authorizing the use of military force in Iraq, which was officially launched on March 20, 2003 — a mission that was centered on disarming Saddam and his country of “weapons of mass destruction”, removing the dictator in the process, and freeing the Iraqi people.

The CIA initially released a copy of this document in 2004, in response to a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request. But, citing that it could potentially pose a threat to national security, they redacted “virtually” all of it.

This cleaner, unredacted version of the document was attained by John Greenewald, an expert in the field of classified documents.

He asked for it last year. In January, the agency complied, and sent him this:
