Is this what the American flag was intended for?

According to an Us Weekly source, Caitlyn Jenner, the 66-year-old former Olympic superstar (who went by Bruce Jenner then) will pose naked for Sports Illustrated wearing nothing but the American flag and a gold medal. It’ll be published in the iconic magazine at some point before this year’s Olympics in Brazil.

The cover is supposed to commemorate the 40th anniversary of her win at the 1976 games in Montreal, Canada.

The question many will have (and it’s very fair) is this: why does it have to be naked?

Considering who Jenner is affiliated with — the attention-seeking Kardashian clan, who’ve made a fortune corralling eyeballs through selfies, clothes, drama and pornography — it’s probably a dumb question. But, puzzling and perhaps disturbing nonetheless.

Lest we never forget that the flag is a sacred symbol, and one that many Americans have given their life to protect.

Does it really belong being flaunted as a piece of lingerie?

To no one’s surprise, this isn’t the first time a member of the Kim K. fam has posed in their birthday suit with Old Glory.

This from the Huffington Post:

… Caitlyn’s ex, Kris Jenner, wore a flag and a gold medal for a racy photoshoot during Season 1 of “Keeping Up with the Kardashians.”

Of course, sporting nothing but your lady or man bits while holding or wearing the American flag isn’t illegal, as it’s considered “symbolic speech” and thus protected under the First Amendment.
