An 82 year-old Navy veteran and karaoke lover gave British reality television star Simon Cowell an audition he will never forget.

John Hetlinger looks like your standard grandpa. With his shirt tucked into his high-waisted khaki pants, Hetlinger took the stage of America’s Got Talent ready to wow the panel of judges and hopefully move on to the next round.

Before performing, Hetlinger shared some details of his lucrative military career. In his hey day, he flew jets as a Navy pilot and helped repair the Hubble telescope as an aerospace engineer. After he retired in Colorado, Hetlinger discovered a passion for karaoke.

The audience and judges braced themselves for a song like “Sweet Caroline” or the “Cheers” theme song. Instead, they were treated to a howling rendition of “Bodies” by Drowning Pool. The lyrics go something like this:

“Let the bodies hit the floor. Let the bodies hit the floor. Let the bodies hit the floor. Let the bodies hit the…FLOOOOOOOOOOOOOR!”

Cowell watched the audition somewhat scandalized, but the audience roared with Hetlinger. While didn’t make it any further in the competition, this Navy veteran’s audition was certainly the most unforgettable performance of the night.

This isn’t the first time Hetlinger sang this song. He uploaded a video of himself performing at a bar in 2014 to Youtube. It’s proof that he can only get more bad ass with age.

And for posterity, here’s the video for the original song.
