These are BM-21 Grad launch vehicles spitting out flaming M-21OF rockets that were once the pride and joy of Soviet Russia. Now, as you can see in the looping footage below, they’re the playthings of this Russian military man — who seems to take them as seriously as the snow in his vodka.
Watch and you’ll see. One second he’s communicating. The next second the sky is blotted out by rocket fire and smoke and … power. And he’s nearly wiped from the scene. It’s really something. And completely insane.
