The restaurant getting lit up like a birthday cake stuffed with gasoline in the footage below is a Wendy’s in Gainesville, Florida. According to FOX 13 Tampa Bay, it was captured by a woman named Hollin Hoffman as she was trying to get a pretty clip of the rain to post on Snapchat.

She describes it well in the description of the video on her YouTube account:

“Well, it’s a little rainy here in Florida and was taking a snapchat to share the rain with friends.  Then…KABLOOMMKRAAH.”

“KABLOOMMKRAAH” is right.

By the way, the Wendy’s restaurant and burger empire is the brainchild of the late Dave Thomas (if you’re old enough to remember the commercials — he used to be in them) who was a proud United States military veteran.

This from Wikipedia:

At the outbreak of the Korean War in 1950, rather than waiting for the draft, he volunteered for the U.S. Army to have some choice in assignments. Having food production and service experience, Thomas requested the Cook’s and Baker’s School at Fort Benning, Georgia. He was sent overseas to Germany as a mess sergeant and was responsible for the daily meals of 2000 soldiers, rising to the rank of staff sergeant. After his discharge in 1953, Thomas returned to Fort Wayne and the Hobby House.
