War relics are constantly being discovered on the battlefields of the past. Luckily, in the United States you are only likely to find a Civil War bullet fragment in your backyard. In Europe, where the continent’s most populated cities served as battlegrounds less than a century ago, you might stumble upon unexploded bombs.

The unexploded shell was discovered Wednesday morning in the ground near Westfield London Mall. The shell was 13.5 inches long and six inches wide.

The shopping center and adjacent buildings were immediately evacuated as bomb specialists arrived on the scene. The bomb was removed safely, and shoppers and employees have been allowed back into the buildings.

Keep calm and shop on, Britain.
