There’s forgiveness, and then there’s what United States military veteran Chris Sanna did this month.

“We’re supposed to get together, I got them gift cards and stuff for Christmas, we’re just trying to get the trial and stuff out of the way.”

It’s hard to believe … but believe it.

Sanna is speaking of the family of the man who — senselessly — shot and paralyzed him last summer as he made his way back home after taking his mother to a St. Louis Cardinals baseball game for her birthday.

Here’s the original story:

Kilwa Jones is the name of the man who shot him during an armed robbery in downtown St. Louis back in 2015. The man who was recently sentenced to 35 years in a federal prison for the crime.

Where most would store anger and hatred for someone who brought such pain, devastation and chronic injury to their being, Sanna has an entirely different perspective.

And it’s downright saintlike.

“They’re going to have to visit him in jail, and he probably wishes that night never happened just like I do,” said Sanna.

Chris served in the U.S. Army for six years.
