“Our fifth wheel needed some repairs, so we took it to the repair shop, spent the night in a hotel and that night, somebody decided that they liked our truck better than us and swiped it away,” said retired United States Air Force airman Jason Saman recently to local news in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

The disabled veteran, who served for 20 years in the USAF, says he and his family have been stranded in the city ever seen the theft, which occurred about two weeks ago.

The pickup was what they used to transport their RV.

In the meantime, photographs have been posted on social media (one of them seen above) and even a reward has been posted by Saman in hopes that someone will come across the stolen vehicle and have it returned.

The bounty? One thousand bucks.

“If we can actually find the individuals who went ahead and decided to steal the truck, prosecute them, and I’ll give them an extra $500 for their trouble.”

Of course, both local authorities and media pressed Saman on this issue, as vigilante justice isn’t at all condoned. Police say you should never “approach a stolen vehicle”, rather, you should dial 911 instead.

Nevertheless, the former airman is determined to get his truck back.

“Be careful,” he said. “If someone is willing to steal a vehicle, they might be willing to hurt you, so take care of yourselves first.”
