Memorial Day in America isn’t about fun in the sun. We don’t get the extra day off to party and grill burgers and hot dogs and drink beer, forget our names and get sand in our suits on the beach.

We get the day off to remember those who died fighting for the United States of America. We get the day off to honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice so that we may live free and pursue happiness and be safe from violence and tyranny and oppression.

Let’s get everyone on the same page. Because it’s the least we can do for the men and women who are no longer with us — who served their country and gave everything they had. LITERALLY everything they had.
