With America still respiring its collective exhale in the wake of the news this morning that all U.S. Navy sailors being held by the fickle Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps were released unharmed, the IRGC sent the following footage (below) of Tuesday’s maritime capture into the digital ether.

As you’ll see, the video documents the two U.S. riverine command boats — along with its crew — and two Iranian fast boats bobbing in the harbor at Farsi Island in the Persian Gulf.

Along with the sailors, Iran also handed back the boats themselves, a gesture that defies — at least historically — their naval protocol.

The details as to how the two American boats ended up in this whole debacle? They still haven’t come out. Stay tuned to the blog for more on this developing story.
