No, “Valravn” isn’t a motor oil brand, or your uncle’s renaissance fair moniker, it’s the newest fastest, tallest and longest dive roller coaster in the world — standing enormous on the Lake Erie waterfront at Ohio’s famous amusement park, Cedar Point.

Not only does it measure 3,400 feet in length and drop riders more than 20 stories at the beginning of its devilish route, but it takes them through a daring maneuver that was inspired by something World War I combat planes pulled off first at the beginning of a 20th century.

Climb into one of the seats through this POV video and see if you can pick up the military action we’re talking about (if you’re sitting down, put the proverbial buckle on, because it could leave you queasy):

See it?

It’s not easy, the thing is going 75 mph, but what we’re getting at happened right after the first big drop (223 feet).

It’s the 165-foot-tall Immelmann loop, inspired by the Immelmann turn, a dogfighting tactic named after Max Immelmann, a WWI-era German pilot.

WW1Immelmann

After the Immelmann, the wild ride takes everyone down ANOTHER drop, this time off a 125-foot-hill.

For amusement thrill-seekers or coaster junkies, it’s an instant Mecca. Something that needs to be taken in and experienced firsthand (although the video above is no slouch).

Thankfully, the good people at CP have military veterans in mind, because they make it easier on their wallets when they try to buy tickets to the park right here.

And you don’t even have to be a fighter pilot to nab it (but if you are, that’s okay too).
